About Thomas C. Kates, Attorney and Counselor at Law
Thomas C. Kates has been a practicing attorney in the State of Michigan for over twenty years. He specializes in the vitally important practice area of family law, including divorce, child custody, support, paternity, adoption and abuse/neglect.
He obtained his Juris Doctor Degree in 1989 from Wayne State University Law School where he served as assistant editor of the Wayne Law Review.
Mr. Kates has worked as a trial lawyer in West Michigan throughout his entire career and has the experience necessary to assist you in navigating the complexities of the court system. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Family Law Section, and formerly served as president of the Mason-Lake Bar Association.
